Dear Fellow BNI
I’m pleased to announce the names of the Chapter V members who will be invited to join the membership committee for the spring/summer semester, 2007. The Membership Committee is a vital component of any BNI Chapter, and with Chapter V’s aggressive recruiting and referral-generation goals for the upcoming semester, we count on membership committee members with the experience and talent to attract and recognize prospective members who can contribute to the chapter’s growth and expanded referral exchange.
The mission to grow and improve our chapter extends beyond the recruitment of new members: we seek dynamic business professionals who understand and appreciate the value of networking, who can contribute to the chapter by proactively seeking referral opportunities, and can form power partnerships with standing members.
Central to that mission is the recently-adopted position of Membership Recruitment Coordinator (MRC). The MRC is charged with outreach to business and commerce organizations, targeting of strategic desired membership categories and other activities design to help the chapter increase its membership, and therefore, referral activity.
For that reason, we have elected to include the Membership Recruitment Coordinator as a standing, voting member of the Membership Committee.
Another major responsibility of the Membership Committee is regulating networking activity, including meeting attendance and referrals generated. The committee also hears issues aired by Chapter members that may affect the health of the Chapter, including alleged member category conflicts. We hope that a slate of experienced chapter members can effectively lead by example and help improve the quality of our Chapter’s networking activity.
The members to be invited to join the Chapter V Membership Committee, as full, voting members, and an alternate, are listed below:
Alternate Member:
Tracy Rogers- Tracy Rogers- Tracy is a long-term Chapter V member, an accomplished networking sales professional, and was recently a member of the Membership Committee. This semester, we will count on Tracy’s business savvy and people skills to assist the committee as an alternate member- who will serve in the event one of the sitting committee members is unable to perform his/her duties.
Full Members:
Ira Ketive- Ira’s just-completed term as President of Chapter V will serve the Membership Committee well. Ira has a history of recruiting qualified individuals into the chapter and we expect him to be instrumental in helping us select prospective members that will make a positive contribution to the chapter. Ira knows how to network and we believe he will be instrumental in bringing issues affecting the health of the chapter to the committee’s attention in a timely manner.
Ed Smolka- Ed is perhaps the most accomplished networker in all Manhattan BNI Region, and is recognized by the regional director team as the most prolific referral generator on the island. We’re betting that his networking skills will help the committee to identify those individuals best able to share and benefit from BNI referrals.
Tom Regalbuto- a founding member of Chapter V, Tom’s reputation for honesty and integrity and his many long-term relationships with Chapter members should put him in a position to help the committee in its efforts to grow its membership and maintain effective networking activities.
Dov Weinstock- Dov will be serving his second term as membership recruitment coordinator. Since a major element of the Membership Committee’s responsibility is screening and approving new members, we look for Dov’s assistance in helping us fill the pipeline with prospective new members. Having Dov as a full member of the committee is a strategy designed to help direct his recruitment activities towards those areas that would best suit the Chapter’s needs.
In conclusion, I wish to thank the individuals above for volunteering to serve on the Membership Committee and I look forward to working with them to grow and improve our chapter.
Regards,
Dan Kelly
Vice-President, BNI Chapter 5
